Quest Heroes: A Tactical Dungeon Crawler with Board Game Elements
Indie developer 'Tabletop Pixel', founded by two French friends in Japan, is bringing the tactical-dungeon-crawler board game genre to digital. After months of effort they need fans to stand up and be counted to help them reach the end of the development.

In the board-gaming world, there is a distinct genre: the Team Dungeon Crawler. The venerable HeroQuest (published 25 years ago by Milton Bradley in collaboration with Games Workshop) was the father of it. Among the latest and most popular ones are titles such as Descent 2nd Ed., Mice & Mystics and Super Dungeon Explore. In these sorts of games, players form a party of heroes exploring a dungeon while slaying monsters, finding treasures and artifacts, avoiding traps, and dealing with quest-specific threats.

Previous attempts to bring this physical experience to digital have never lived up to Tabletop Pixel's expectations. As big fans of this genre, the team are driven by the passion and belief that many other people out there are dying to play a game like this. Lacking the resources to develop the complete game, they started building a prototype with which to convince a publisher to fund the rest of the development. The time has now come to make publishers sit up and listen, and it's important to prove that the game has an audience. That's what Tabletop Pixel is working on now, with a particular focus on getting as many Twitter followers as possible (@QuestHeroes).
